Wysiwyg aggregates audio-visual content for distribution via all internet means. Wysiwyg licenses internet rights to feature films, documentaries, short films, television series, and complete libraries, from all over the world.

The Internet will soon become the primary method of delivery of video to consumers the world over. Traditional methods of distribution are on the way out. Film and TV will follow the music industry, and consumers will access content primarily via the net.

Wysiwyg assesses all new content delivery services and signs revenue-share agreements with the best of them. Wysiwyg thus releases content through all new digital media outlets including internet streaming/download, TV set top box, mobile devices, cell phone networks and IPTV.

HISTORY

Wysiwyg Films was set up in 2001 with the mandate to produce a feature film, The Ultimate Truth. The film went on to win BEST FOREIGN FILM at the Long Island International Film Expo, New York, 2004. The experience of producing the film and finding distribution led Wysiwyg Films’ founder Tom Swanston to create its subsidiary Wysiwyg Distribution. Through this new company The Ultimate Truth is now on DVD release in the US and UK, and will be playing in 200 cinemas across Spain from June 16 to 23, 2006.

Wysiwyg licenses, authors, and markets broadcast quality  titles. It is an established company with a strong brand identity in independent film. Wysiwyg trades in DVD sales (online and high street stores), cinematic exhibition, TV sales, and download.

DVD

A retail distribution agreement has been signed with Blackhorse Entertainment, a subsidiary of S Gold & Sons, long-established and well-known wholesalers and distributors of DVD.  Through Blackhorse, the three launch titles were released 5th September 2005, and Blackhorse will
distribute all future titles.

DOWNLOAD

British Internet Broadcasting Company (BiBC) are providing Wysiwyg titles for video-on-demand download.  Wysiwyg titles are the first feature films available for online download on the BiBC website.

DIGITAL CINEMA

Working with Arts Alliance, two new Wysiwyg titles will be released in UK digital cinemas this year in association with Blackhorse Entertainment.

An agreement has also been signed with CineDigital, who will release selected Wysiwyg titles across 200 digital cinemas in Spain, even as they expand into other European countries later in the year.

OVERSEAS SALES

TV rights to one of Wysiwyg’s titles have been sold to HBO for 12 territories in Europe, with others to follow.

PRODUCTION

Wysiwyg continues to develop and produce feature films, documentaries, animation and TV series.

As Wysiwyg heads into 2008, the global digital film and TV market has begun to mature, marked by  the launch of iTunes Movie Rentals and Apple TV2, the lack of new programming caused by the writer’s strike in LA driving consumers to the web for content, and reports of a rise in online sales by the top digital services.
