Hi Wysiwyg

Saw your announcement about this blog in Shooting People today and thought I'd take a read.

A good article, and while agree with most of it, I'm not convinced legitimising pirates is wholly possible. For one, they have reasons to be doing what they're doing, and I don't feel your argument would be enough to persuade them to (to twist a phrase) "come in from the tropics".

It's funny as this doesn't normally happen, but your blog got me thinking further about it, and prompted me to write my thoughts down about it, which can be found at the duly noted blog:

Anyway, all the best for your business.

[...] I came across an interesting blog today from Wysiwyg, the online film distribution company, entitled The Death of Piracy, which they’d just announced in Shooting People. A bold title indeed for an interesting article, which is well worth a read if you get the chance; if anything for their brief history of internet file-sharing and online piracy that resulted, as well as the technologies being introduced and a change of thought processes within the entertainment industries required to combat it. [...]
